Drop in Support and Drop in Activities for anyone with memory difficulties and their carers

...provides monthly opportunity for an activity and a monthly opportunity for meeting/socialising/information/support for anyone with memory difficulties and their carers. Those attending may/may not have a diagnosis of dementia. The project is collaborative and run with support from NHS Lanarkshire CPNs and Alzheimer Scotland. It began with only Drop in Support in 2012 with about 6 folk attending and now can have 40-50 or more

Our Story

The project was begun and runs with minimal resourcing in terms of funding. It was set up and begun within two months and has grown considerably moving from a small hall into our large church hall to accommodate the increasing numbers.
It is supported by volunteers from the church and we have built excellent working relationships with the local Mental Health team for older people and continue to have some input from Alzheimer Scotland. We have undertaken training for Playlist for life and hope to roll out that project over the coming year.
